The Delhi High Court Tuesday granted bail to Safoora Zargar, the pregnant Jamia university student who was arrested under anti-terror law UAPA in a case related to communal violence in northeast Delhi during protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act, as Solicitor General Tushar Mehta did not oppose the court's decision on humanitarian grounds.

The scientist at India Meteorological Department, Naresh Kumar informed that they are expecting heavy monsoon in Delhi by June 25. “There is cyclonic circulation started over North Odhisha and neighbourhood that is up to 7.6 kilometres. We are expecting fairly widespread to widespread activity over east Indian and north eastern state. That means more than 75 to 100 per cent stations may receive rainfall activity over east and north-east India during next to three days,” said Naresh Kumar. “We are expecting heavy to vey heavy spells over Odhisha, Jharkhand and part of north eastern state, thereafter the rainfall activity slightly shifted towards Madhya Pradesh. Considering that we are expecting the monsoon progress, in next 48 hours it will cover more part of Uttar Pradesh and some part of Uttarakhand. Then it should cover entire western Himalayas region including Haryana and Delhi by June 25.” Naresh Kumar added.
